The hair transplantation concept
Hair transplantation works by extracting hair grafts from an area that isn't affected by hormones -usually the back of the head- called the donor area, the graft consists of 1-4 hair follicles with their surrounding tissue of stem cells that is responsible for hair regrowth. The extracted hair grafts are incisioned in the thinning area called a recipient area. Within 6 months from the procedure, the hair regrows in the recipient area.
Several manual techniques can be used like FUE or FUSS (sometimes called FUT) for grafts collection, the procedure is user-dependent, long and the results can't be consistent or reproducible as the treated area needs accuracy by micrometer steps and the patient usually needs thousands of grafts.
